Our story begins in Cleveland, Ohio, where George H. Scott and Carl S. Fetzer founded the George H. Scott Machine Co. This marked the beginning of what would become a century-long tradition of American manufacturing excellence.
1956
Kirby vacuum cleaners had grown to be sold door-to-door by 4,000 salespeople nationwide. What made Kirby unique was their revolutionary offer of free replacement parts for the life of each vacuum—a testament to quality that would influence our approach to customer service decades later.
The Foundation of Excellence
Because Kirby embroidered their vacuum bags, the company developed a sophisticated sewing department. This seemingly small detail would prove crucial to our future, as it gave us the manufacturing expertise that would eventually lead to Rediheat's innovative food heating solutions.
1986
The company joined the Berkshire Hathaway family, providing the stability and resources for continued innovation.
2003
Bagless vacuums gained popularity in the 1990's, so by 2003, the company's sewing department needed new purpose. Demonstrating the Cleveland spirit of adaptation and innovation, the company began manufacturing pizza delivery bags alongside other specialized sewn products, including antenna bags for the U.S. Army.
Rediheat is Born
Dave Breen acquired the pizza bag division of the business in 2003. This pivotal moment marked the birth of Rediheat—a company built on over 90 years of Cleveland manufacturing expertise, innovative engineering, and unwavering commitment to quality.

All RediHeat heaters are A/C and plug directly into a wall outlet prior to delivery, taking only 4-5 minutes to reach the optimal heating temperature of 180 degrees Fahrenheit. The patented heating technology is designed to keep your food hot for 45 minutes.
